You know you’re in rough shape when a brand new beautiful eyeshadow palette arrives in the mail and you’re too sick to want to play with it. Yep, totally got hit by the flu. My son got came home sick from school one afternoon and after going to the doctor, it was revealed that he had the flu. After a few days of remaining healthy, I was sure that I was invincible, but then I was immediately put in my place, complete with a 102.5 fever, chills, and aches. Ha, ha! Anyways, back to my point…
Younique’s February Kudos Be Younique
Be Loved Palette
Y’all. This palette is everything. Like everything. As you know from my previous post, I was excited about this eyeshadow palette, but holy moly, it’s so much better in real life!!
The colors are fun.
They are soft and feminine.
They can be bold for a smokey plum eye.
The four shades actually become seven when you put “unwavering” on top of them to create a whole new look! Mind blown, right?!
Yesterday was the first day that I got dressed (in regular clothes, not pj’s) and I put on makeup. One of my girl friends texted to see how I was doing and I texted back that I was basically nailing life because I was dressed AND had makeup on. Since when is nailing life being dressed and having makeup on, but it’s the little things, right?
Playing with this palette is SO much fun! Maybe this will surprise you, and maybe it won’t, but I typically don’t get super excited about eyeshadow. I have developed a newfound love for my Younique eyeshadow palettes, but before that, it was just something that seemed to take up time when I didn’t have a lot of time to begin with. But, not anymore.
It’s because of the confidence it give me. It’s because I can create something that makes me feel good about myself.. and that’s something worth getting excited about. It’s not a chore; it’s something that makes me smile.
Ever since my palette arrived in the mail I’ve been dying to play with it. What I didn’t count on is that the flu would knock me on my ass. Anyways, since I was feeling better yesterday I wanted to try out the colors. I didn’t really have a plan in mind and that was the best part. The final look was so girly and romantic! I paired it with a “LOVE” shirt that hung off one of my shoulders, put my hair in a messy bun, and felt really good about myself.
Perhaps what I’m most excited about is creating all different kinds of looks. You can do anything with this palette and it is perfect for anyone, even teenagers who are beginning to get in to makeup. Hello pale pink!
I’m also convinced that no matter what color your eyes are, this palette will make them stand out! It looks good with all eye colors and who doesn’t love something that will help your eyes pop just a little more?!
Younique Products I Used to Create This Look
I started out by using “Unwavering” on my lower lid, then I put “Adored” on top of it so that it balanced out the metallic a bit. I put “Allured” in the crease and blended it in little circles with the crease brush. Here’s when I realized the power of “Unwavering”… I decided to try to make the color just a little more soft and subtle and I put “Unwavering” on top of everything. My colors completely changed into more iridescent shades and the whole look changed. I really like how it ended up looking though. More pink and purple than I’ve ever been used to, but man, my eyes popped! I lined my eyes with “devoted”, put on some tinted lip balm in Cherry Cobbler, and went about my day!
Even though this look is completely different than what I’m used to, I felt so pretty and confident. And I guess that’s the thing about makeup – You don’t need to have a plan and know what you’re doing. Makeup is there to enhance our features, but the confidence it can provide is unlike any other. As with all things in life, do what feels good to you and go out with the confidence that it provides. You don’t need to be a makeup artist; there are no rules. Just have fun with it and create looks that make you happy and feel good! You can purchase the Younique February Kudos here. I would love to see the looks you create!
