Younique Products FAQ’s: What You Need To Know

Join Younique and get your own Presenter KitAre you looking to join Younique and become a presenter? If so, this post is for you! In the past week I’ve had many presenters email me before joining to ask very similar questions, so I thought it would be a good idea for me to write a post about it.

Is there a cost to sign up?
When you sign up as a presenter, you pay $99 US, $119 CA, $129 AUS, and $139 NZ (coming June 1, 2014) for the cost of your kit. Let me just say that the contents in the Younique kit are amazing! You get: 30 eye pigments, 6 concealers, 5 blushers, 3D Fiber Lash mascara, eye brushes (set of 3), and a charm. All of this comes in a super cute black faux leather kit. You also get your Younique website free for life!

Is there a monthly auto-ship or any extra costs to pay monthly?
No. You pay your initial money for your kit and that is it. You are not required to keep inventory at your house. There are no hidden costs.

What else do I need to know?
You have to sell at least $125 every 3 months in order to stay active with Younique. Instead of letting that number seem daunting to you, think of it in different terms. If you just sell two 3D Fiber Lash Mascaras every month, you will be active. It’s much easier to think of it like that, at least for me it is.

Do I have to have home parties?
Nope. The fact that I didn’t have to have a home party was what initially attracted me to Younique, not going to lie. Now that I’ve been involved with Younique for 4 months, the idea of having a home party is more appealing. Inviting friends over, playing with makeup, and having some wine doesn’t sound too bad. In fact, when you are dealing with makeup, it’s sometimes better to be able to play around with it so you can make sure to get the right colors for your face! But again, you do not have to have home parties.

How do I get sales then?
Younique integrates perfectly with Facebook when it comes to having an online party. You can create a group or event, invite your friends, and they can shop at their leisure! Once you get customers from your virtual party, you can then ask your happy customers if they would like to host a Facebook party for their friends. (Who doesn’t want hostess rewards, right?) Then you get more customers and ask them. And on and on. You just keep on going. It’s nice because you get to branch out of your personal contacts and meet new people all of the time! The best-case scenario is that your customers sign up to be presenters… but if they don’t, they can host a party for you or give you referrals!

You can also use Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and any other social media outlet. Post pictures, include your link, and build a following.

Speaking of pictures, how do I get access to people’s results from using the Younique products?
After you sign up to be a presenter, I will share a site with you where you will have access to hundreds of photos from other presenters and customers. You are free to use these pictures to do your marketing on Facebook, or any other social media site. You do not need to ask permission; the pictures are for us to use.

What happens after I sign up to be a presenter?
Well first I’ll send you an email congratulating you and then I will friend request you on Facebook. Once we are “friends”, I will add you to the secret Younique Presenter page on Facebook and on the team page. These pages are really awesome because you get updates on them, can ask questions, and have lots of support from other presenters!

I will also help you get your Facebook party set up and help you any other way that I can.

These are the main questions I get, so I hope this post was helpful. Please feel free to send me an email if you have questions – I’m always here to help!

    • Yes you do Brittney. This is how you gain your commission and pay the relevant taxes. By joining younique you become self-employed x

    • Hi Brittney,

To try to get the mascara for free, you can host a Facebook party. As long as your party totals $200, you will get 10% in Younique cash (to spend on free product) and 1 half-price item. The more your party totals, the more rewards you get. If your party totals $290, then you would have enough to get the mascara for free. If you have any questions, please let me know.

      Thanks,
      Kristin

      • Hey! How do you know how much your party makes? I’ve been thinking about becoming a presenter but I haven’t really gotten how the parties and stuff work.

        • Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog about Younique parties! We have a party rewards chart on our Younique sites that you will have access to when you become a Younique presenter. Basically, as long as your party totals at least $200 (about 7 mascaras), you or your hostess will earn free product. As the total increases, you will earn more free products.

Let’s say your party totals $200. You will get 1 half-priced item to spend on any product or collection. Basically it’s a 50% off. You will also earn 10% of your party sales in the form of Younique cash (like store credit to spend on product).

Parties are a great way to build up your inventory without having to spend a lot of your own money. They always help expand your business when you get others to host a party for you.

      • Hi, I just became a presenter a week ago and I was wondering, if a person wants to host an online party for me, do they have to be customers. Or can they host and not have to buy anything?

    • Can someone walk me through how I would sell the products.!! I’m a very shy person and I honestly don’t think I would be any good at this.

      • I completely get where you’re coming from, Michaela. The really cool thing is that I’m shy just like you and Younique presenters aren’t salespeople so you don’t have to worry about that 😉

When you first join, you should:
        1. Go through the weekly trainings on your Younique site to gain a better understanding of the basics.
        2. Have an online launch party on Facebook. (If you decide to work with me, I am happy to host your launch party with you so that you can see how I do parties online.)
        3. Get more parties booked through friends/family/acquaintances.
        4. Have fun!

What’s worked really well for me is that I share the products with people. It’s very casual and no pressure at all this way. If someone wants to purchase products, that’s great. If they don’t, that’s okay too. When I get a new product, I post about it on Facebook. When I’m talking to my friends, I bring it up or they might notice the makeup shade on my face. Sharing the products with friends works really well. After all, if you found a necklace or restaurant you like, you’d recommend it to your friends, right? This is the same thing 🙂

Your sponsor (the person you sign up with) should help you out in the beginning as much as you need. I’d love to answer any other questions you might have and would love to work with you and help you get your business going!

  1. Hi Diana,

You have to be 18 years old to be a presenter. If you are under than 18 yrs old, your parent can sign up to be a presenter and then have the account transferred over to you once you turn 18.

    Thanks,
    Kristin

    • I am 17 a wife and soon to be stay at home mom. I have been interested in selling the younique products. My mom and I have both read everywhere and can’t seem to find if I can sale being 17. Was wondering if there was anyway to get around the having to be 18. My mom is even willing to help me just to get a little money in my pocket and have fun doing it! Could you please let me know if there is anyway I could sale younique(:

    • Hi Breeana,

Yes, there is a special 2-year anniversary kit that we have right now in November. It’s a great variety of products, all for the same price. In this celebratory kit you get: the 3d fiber lash mascara, Uplift eye serum, Glorious primer, Luxe lipgloss, and 3 eyeliners (in black, light brown, and white).

It typically doesn’t change every month. Younique wanted to do something special to mark their 2-year anniversary, which is why the kit changed. We will have a new one in December, but details of that presenter kit haven’t been released just yet.

Are you thinking of becoming a presenter?

      Thanks,
      Kristin

  2. hi I was just wondering if you could e mail me some info about selling these products I live in a small town and I have just recently heard about these products and I am interested in learning more

    • Hey Kristina!

I’ve just emailed you about being a presenter. I’m looking forward to talking to you about Younique! It’s a lot of fun 🙂

      Talk soon,
      Kristin

  3. I was just wondering if all the money you earn is “younique cash” as in, you can only spend it on younique products…can you make real money to help with grocery’s or new shoes?

    • Hi Jessica,

You earn real money for groceries and shoes (I like the way you think!), in addition to Younique cash, so it’s the best of both worlds! I’m going to send you an email so we can go over any other questions you may have.

      Talk to you soon,
      Kristin

    • Hi Alejandra,

The latest presenter’s kit is a great one! It comes with: the 3d fiber lash mascara, Uplift eye serum, Rosewater, Luxe lip gloss, and 3 eye liners (in black, brown, and white). The kit also comes with a shade stick, which is an amazing tool for helping to match skin tones to our BB creams, powders, and foundations!

The presenter kit won’t be going back to this kit because the eye pigments are now made in the USA instead of China.

If you have any other questions, just let me know. Thanks for commenting on my blog 🙂
      Kristin

    • Hi Lisa!

Thanks so much for your comment on my blog about Younique! Within the first 90 days of signing up as a presenter, when you enroll 3 presenters under you and sell $2000 in product, you will have earned your Fast Start Bonus. This is a big deal and Younique awards you with $250 in Younique cash to spend on product! You will also get an exclusive Fast Start charm to go with your other charms that Younique sends for promotions.

As you advance through the plan and when you get to the Pink status, you will start earning 3% from your team’s (everyone that has signed up under you) sales. As you advance past the Pink status, you will earn a higher percentage from sales, as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions that I can help with!

      Have a great day!
      Kristin

  4. Hi Kristin,
Can you explain to me how the sales work using FaceBook? I’m a teacher and am cautious about having a FaceBook account because parents want to friend you and take offense when they are denied . I do have an account so I can sell Younique, but it is barely set up. Could I have an account for the sole purpose of selling Younique? Do you have to have lots of friends to sell a lot? I have many resources and can think of about 6 people in other states or areas where I live who’d be interested in selling too. I appreciate your time!

    Thank you,
    Kim

    • Hi Kim! Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my blog!

Yes, you can definitely have a FB account set up for Younique only. You don’t have to have a lot of friends in order to sell a lot and FB is just one avenue of ways to grow your business. If your friends want to host a party on FB though, you two will need to be friends so that the hostess rewards go in her account.

Parties on FaceBook are set up in an event or in a group. The host of the party (including yourself) invites friends to the group or event and then posts photos and information throughout the duration of the party. You include your party link and that’s how people purchase product. You can also do parties on other social media outlets, like Google+.

Are you on other social media outlets? Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Tsu, and Google+ are great alternatives to Facebook. Or another option is to just do it the fashioned way by reaching out to your friends and contacts through calling, messaging, or texting to let them know what you have started and to share it with them. You can also do vendor events, networking events, home parties, and more so that you don’t have to worry about Facebook and your student’s parents friend requesting you.

Hope this helps to answer your questions! Let me know if you have other questions – I’m happy to help. I’ve also sent you an email with the above information.

Have a great day and I’m looking forward to talking to you soon!
      Kristin

  5. I am looking for a presenter and was wondering if it is more beneficial to have someone in your own country? Does it matter who is in your top line ( as your team) or do you only get % and royalties from who is under you?
    Cheers Denise

    • Hi Denise,
It’s definitely not necessary to be in the same area as your sponsor. As long as you can reach them via phone, Skype, messaging, Facebook, etc, you will be fine. You only earn royalties from your team under you. Let me know if you have other questions.

      Thanks,
      Kristin

    • Hi Alma,

Thanks for your comment! You start out earning 20% commission on the products that you sell. As you advance through the compensation plan you can earn up to 30%. I’d love to tell you more and answer your questions about Younique.

      Talk to you soon!
      Kristin

        • You earn a commission on any amount of order that you or your customers place. There is no minimum amount of orders that have to be placed in order for you to receive your commission.

*If you are a presenter, you do have to maintain the 125PRS every rolling 3 month period.

  6. Are Younique products sold in any stores? I would like to be a presenter, but I don’t want to compete with Target, ulta etc.
    Thank you,
    Marty Norris

    • Hi Marty,

No, Younique products are not sold in stores. Only Independent Presenters can sell the products, so no need to worry about competing with the big stores 🙂

  7. Hi Kristen,
I really like the layout of your website. I am considering becoming a younique presenter and have a couple of questions. Would my personal facebook page be the place the product would be advertised, or would I need to set up a separate page for that? Also I already have a successful facebook community page; would it be ok for me to advertise product on there as well because I have a fairly large following of women. I am confused about the free website that comes with the initial investment, and it appears you are doing a great job of promoting product without it on your personal blog here.

    Regards,
    Pamela Baker

    • Hi Pamela,

It’s definitely a good idea to set up a business Facebook page to advertise the products. You can always share that on your personal FB page, if you want.

That’s great that you have a large following in a community already and it would be a great idea to advertise on there. It would help get your name out to everyone, make back some (or all) of your initial investment, and gain some customers.

The free Younique website is where you and your customers will order products from, not necessarily a marketing tool.

      Thanks,
      Kristin

  8. Hiya
Please can u explain when u have. Virtual party running is it best for the host to order products rather than the customer because they will be charged p&p
    Regards
    Shaz

    • Hi Shaz,

When I have a virtual party, customers usually purchase products on their own and pay for the shipping. If there are local ladies interested in products, the host can certainly order the products in a bulk order to save everyone on shipping if that works for her.

      Thanks,
      Kristin

  9. Hi,
I just wondered, if i became a presenter, and say for instance 5-6 months down the line i find it’s not working, or i just can’t make enough on sales, would i get charged for leaving? Or be in debt for any kit i have??
Please can u email me your reply, as i will ask other questions i have also. Thanks. Laura

    • Hi Laura!

If you sign up to be a Younique presenter and then decide to leave, for whatever reason, you are not charged or penalized for anything. Since it’s your business, the decision is completely up to you. When you sign up, you pay for your business and you get your presenter kit as a bonus with that. Once you’ve already paid that initial fee for your Younique business, you are not in debt at all and the kit is completely yours.

      Thanks,
      Kristin

  10. I’m interested in buying younique products but I didn’t realize that I needed a presenter to buy, could you email me with more info about that? Please and thankyou!
    Tabby

  11. Hello. I have been researching this product for awhile now. My question is if I never sold anything before as was in the healthcare business for 20+ years, should I even try it? Another question is, do I have to have a party or can I just sell online? Thanks.

    • Hi Tammie,

Thanks so much for contacting me on my blog and leaving a comment! The great thing about this business is that you don’t need to have any prior experience selling. You just need to wear the products and share what you like with people. Before I started with Younique, I was the same as you – Never had any experience in any Direct Sales or even regular outside sales. I built my business from scratch and got to the top of the compensation plan in 10 months. It’s definitely something that can be done and you should definitely try it, especially if you’ve been researching and thinking about it.

You can sell the products however you’d like. If you want to have online parties, that’s great. If you want to have home parties, that’s great too. If you just want to sell online, that works. Younique is great because it really gives you a chance to utilize so many different avenues of selling and you are free to decide what works best for you.

Please let me know if you have any other questions – I’m happy to help! Thanks again for contacting me and I look forward to talking to you soon.

      Have a great day!
      Kristin

  12. Hi! I’m interested in selling but don’t really know any people that wpykd buy from me. So my question is, when you sell are you only selling to people you know? Or getting people you known to help you sell? Also, could you please e-mail me more information. Thanks!

    • Hi Dynasty – I’ve sent you over an email with some more information 🙂

When sharing these products, it’s best to start out with your own launch party on Facebook. This lets your personal friends and family know that you signed up to be a Younique presenter, gets you some customers, and also earns back a little of your initial investment into Younique.

From your launch party and from every other party that you have, you will always want to get future bookings for more parties. This allows you to branch out of your warm market and move to new people to share your business with. This is the way to grow and expand your business.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
      Kristin

  13. I don’t quite understand the commission structure. If I signed up as a presenter and start selling product, do I get a commission % straight away? If so what % would I get per sale. Also is the Younique cash strictly a bonus or does it count as part of the commission?

    • Hi Diana! When you start selling Younique’s product, you will start out making a 20% commission from the products you sell. As you advance through the compensation plan, you can earn up to 30% commission. The really cool part is that Younique presenters get paid within 3 hours of every single sale that we make. That money is on our PayQuicker Younique debit card and is ready to be used, if you want. 🙂

Younique cash is one of our hostess rewards. It’s tracked and stored in our back office and can be redeemed when ordering products. It helps you get products for free this way! It’s separate of the commission and not real cash that is given to you. I’m happy to clarify more, if needed.

      Thanks for reaching out!
      Kristin

  14. Hi! I am interested in becoming a Younique presenter, but I have a question. I currently have a beauty blog where I use and review many different beauty items. Is it ok to incorporate Younique into this? Or do I have to keep them seperate? Also when I do other people’s make up through my beauty blo I use many different item that fit their identity best and was wondering would I have to keep the outside products seperate when applying younique products?

    • Hi Lauren!

Yes, totally okay to incorporate Younique into your beauty blog. That’s exactly what I’ve done as well. When doing people’s makeup, it’s completely up to you as far as the products that you pick to use, whether it’s Younique’s products or another brand. You don’t have to exclusively be Younique if you decide to join as a presenter.

      Hope that helps!
      Kristin

  15. Hello, I am 17 years old and I was wondering if I put a name under my parent until I am 18, will they have to sell it, or could I do it on my own? I only have a dad and it would be super awkward for him to be selling mascara lol x)
    Thanks!

    • Ha! I can just imagine my dad selling mascara, lol. Too funny! Since you do have to be 18 years old to sign up as a Younique presenter, you will need your dad’s help initially. It’s super easy though! He just needs to sign up with the account in his name and you can work the business. When you turn 18 years old, the account can be transferred into your name and it’ll be all yours! Hope that helps!
      Kristin

  16. Hi Kristin,

I’ve been thinking about signing up to become a Younique presenter, and came across your blog while reading up on it. May I sign up under you, even if we aren’t in the same state? I’m looking for a sideline hobby to make a little extra money from home, and I love the Younique products, so thought this may be a way to make a little extra $$ on the side.
    Thank for your help!

    • Yes, you can sign up under me, Marilyn. We don’t have to be in the same state in order to work together. I’m in Texas and my sponsor is actually in Alaska! As long as we can talk on the phone or online, that’s all that you need 🙂

  17. Hi,

I am thinking of becoming a presenter and I was just wondering how you get the products to the people who have bought them from you? Do they get delivered to them, or do they get delivered to you and you have to get them to the buyers?

Feel free to email me 🙂

    • Hey Jourdan! When your customers place an order from your Younique site, their order ships out directly to their home address. You do not have to delivery anything because Younique takes care of it! It’s SO easy! If you’re still thinking about Younique, I’d love to work with you!

  18. Hi Kristen

Do I have to sign up presenters to be able to make money? or can I just sell products myself and make money? Also can I get a beauty shop to advertise for me and get orders thru them or do I have to advertise myself?

    • Hey Tegan! If you want to maximize the compensation plan, you will want to sign up presenters under you. Here’s why: Starting out, you will make 20% commission on all products that you sell. When you get to Yellow status (2nd promotion), you will start earning 25% commission. That’s the max you can earn by yourself and you won’t be able to pass Yellow status.

When you have presenters and a team under you, you will earn your 25% commission, plus any royalties from your team (once you hit Pink status). With a team under you, you can also earn the max commission of 30% on products that you sell. So, to answer your question, you do not have to have a team under you, but you can see how you would benefit by doing so. It really boils down to what you want to get out of Younique.

You can have a sign up in a salon, but you are not able to have physical product to sell in the salon. You would need to direct all orders to be placed on your Younique site. Hope that helps!

      Kristin

  19. Hi! I’m contemplating on becoming a Younique rep..couple questions:
    1. The $99 I pay to sign up, do I sell that makeup or is it basically mine to do what I please with?
    2. Do I pay a monthly or quarterly fee to remain a rep?
    3. Are you paid monthly/biweekly with a check or direct deposit?

Sorry if you’ve already answered any of those!

    • Hi Emily! To get right into your questions about Younique:

      1. You are free to do whatever you want with the products that come in the presenter Kit. It is best to try everything out just so you know how to talk about each product to potential customers. It’s also great to keep the products so that people can try them out before buying. That being said, if you want to sell the products, you can. It’s completely up to you.

      2. After you pay your initial start-up fee, there are no other fees that you ever have to pay. The only requirement there is to staying an active presenter is that you sell $125 every 3 months, which is about 2 mascara a per month. Super easy to do!

      3. The really cool thing about Younique is that we are paid 3 hours after every single sale we make. We get a cute Younique Visa card from PayQuicker and that’s where our commissions go. Once your commission is there, you are free to spend your money if you want to. You can keep your money on the card or transfer it to your regular bank account for a small fee of $.50.

If you think of anything else, just let me know. I’m happy to help! If Younique sounds like something you want to do, I would love to work with you!

    • Younique does not offer samples, but us presenters are happy to provide samples to customers so that they can try the products out before buying. If you’d like a sample of anything, just let me know and I’m happy to send it to you.

  20. Hi! Awesome blog! For months, I have been debating if I should try this business out with Younique. I just want to have a business on the side. My question is, do we get tax forms yearly as well? Lol, just wondering.
I really missed out on this month’s promotion. If I hit the green status, I’d get $1,000. I have been pretty scared since this is going to be my first time & I really don’t wear make up like that & never sure if people I know would buy from me since I don’t know how to sell to people.
Thanks. Hope you can see this comment

      • Hello!

So I you become a presenter, but you do not make more than $600 a year, you don’t have to file any tax forms? I am interested in how this all works (including all tax forms/info), but have never been an independent selling consultant before. Any help on this would be great!

        Thank you!
        Katelyn

  21. Hi! I’m in a debate because I should have signed up with Yonique 1 1/2 ago but pushed it aside because I have already tried saleing other things and it never went well. Well I truely love this product and will continue to use it forever so why not sell it? My question is, I have a large group of women that I can sell to on my Facebook but most of them have already done virtual parties or a few sell it. Whats the best way to advertise and branch out? I stay at home and would love to make an extra income in my house but not the most confident after 2 epic fails and lots of money spent. Thank you.

    • A sponsor is the person that you decide to sign up under. For example, if you decided to sign up under me, I would be considered your sponsor.

Signing up isn’t free. It’s $99 if you’re in the US.

      • Hi,

I am thinking about joining younique in the UK for some extra cash as me and my partner are in the process of buying our first home and could do with the extra money once we have moved in. I work full time 37.5 hours a week, do I need to declare younique for tax purposes etc?

How much on average can some one earn a month in commision?

        Thanks in advance =)

        • Hi Jade! Declaring Younique for tax purposes depends on how much you make each year. I’ve sent you an email with a little more information on that. As far as how much you can earn in a month – that’s completely up to how hard you work. I would suggest having online parties, even home parties, and sharing Younique with everyone you know so that you can have an amazing first month.

  22. Yes,I’ve been considering signing up with younique and I was wanting to know although I would be signed up under my sponsor I would still be able sell the products however I wanted, right? Also could you email me and basically break down the best ways the sell the product and how the sponser and team works please?

    • I’d love to explain more about Younique to you, Marrissa! Your sponsor is the person you sign up with. Your sponsor is the person that you will go to with your questions and she will help you get your business up and running. If you decided to sign up with me, I would be your go-to person in Younique. I would add you to my team groups on Facebook and help you with your parties. I would basically help you with any and everything until you feel comfortable with all of the information. If I were your sponsor, you would be on my team. You’d have access to all of my team information and to other team members whether it’s for advice, ideas on what’s working for other presenters, or for support.

You are completely in charge of selling products. You’ll get a lot of ideas from me and on my team page but ultimately it’s up to you on which ideas you decide to do. There are so many ways to sell products. You can have parties on Facebook, home parties, carry products on hand and sell them right then and there to friends. You can get a “I have 3d mascara right now” bag and put mascaras in there while you’re out running errands. You can do vendor events. You can get a magnet for your car with your website. You can wear 3d mascara on 1 eye and wear your old favorite mascara on the other to show the difference. You can do farmer’s markets. It’s really endless on what you can do.

I do want to point out that we are not allowed to sell at retail locations (salons or other places of business). I’m looking forward to talking to you more about Younique soon!

  23. If I were to sign up, after buying the initial kit, what is the cost for the product for myself? Do I get a percent off on my own purchases?

    • Hi Lindy! When you purchase your own products, you will earn your 20% commission back within 3 hours of buying product. You’ll also want to order from your party link so that you can earn hostess rewards and get free product!

  24. Hi, my daughter and I are looking into making some extra money and I mentioned to her about the Younique line of cosmetics, my question is would we each have to pay the 99.00 start up fee?

    • Hi Amy,

Yes, you both can pay the $99 and work together to grow your business. I have a few other mom and daughter teams on my team and they are having a lot of fun working with each other.

      Thanks,
      Kristin

  25. Hi, I’m going to buy the start up kit soon and am really excited to get started! The only thing I’m confused about, is finding a someone to sponsor you. The website doesn’t explain that. Do you have to sell the products with other people or can you do it alone? Can you just pick anyone to sponsor you? And what does that mean really? Sorry for all the annoying questions!

    • Hi Amy,

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog about Younique! Picking a sponsor to sign up with is essentially picking the person that you want to learn from and work with. A sponsor’s job is to help train you and get you going so that you understand everything. Your sponsor is your go-to person, especially in the beginning, when you’ll have a lot of questions.

If you don’t have anyone in mind, I’d love to be your sponsor and to work with you. It would be my job to help you get going and to grow your business. I’d add you to my team page on Facebook so that you can get support, ideas from others, and important Younique information. You’re in business for yourself, but not by yourself.

Let me know if you have any other questions about sponsors or Younique in general. I’m happy to help 🙂

      Talk to you soon,
      Kristin

  26. Hi Kristen!
I am very interested in becoming a Younique presenter but I have a few questions I can’t seem to find answers to. Is there any way you can email me please? I’d really appreciate it!
Thank you! Hopefully I’ll talk to you soon!
    – Sara

    • Hi Ruth! The UK Younique Presenter Kit is £69 and there’s a £10 shipping fee. Right now if you decide to join, during the +YOU Movement Campaign, you will get free shipping on your UK presenter kit. You will also get two new 3D Fiber Lashes+ mascaras in your current kit.

  27. Hi there. I am thinking of becoming a presenter. Please could you email me some details on tax declaration.

  28. I am really interested into signing up but I want to try out some of the makeup before I make an investment. Is there anyway you can send me some samples? Also if I don’t sell the $125 in three months do I have to buy the kit again to keep selling?

    • If you don’t sell the $125 in a 3 month period, you will go inactive. If you decide that you want to be active again, you will need to contact support and place a $125 order (either from yourself or from your customers) during that month’s time. If over 6 months passes, you would need to sign up again.

  29. Im very interested in becoming a presenter! Please send me an email so we can chat more indepth about start up!

    -Katherine

  30. Hi I’m interested in selling younique however I would like to have you send me more info. I do not have a sponsor and is wanting to check out different presenter before signing up. I’ve looked into the company as well as the compensation plan and would like to sign under green or higher as I would want a more experienced sponsor. Your web page attracted me and the fact that your already black status (Great job btw) would you mind chatting a bit?

    • Thanks so much! I’d love to talk to you more about becoming a Younique presenter! Now is such a great time to join as part of the +YOU Movement Campaign. During the +YOU Movement, you will get a +YOU charm (in addition to your white status charm), free shipping on your Younique presenter kit, and TWO sets of our brand new enhanced 3D Fiber Lashes+ mascara. It increases your lash volume up to 400%, is Opthamologist tested and approved, and is now made in the USA! It’s such an exciting time! I’m excited to talk to you more and answer your questions!

  31. What is the website we can use to get pictures? Can i use a picture from there and put it on my business cards? I recently joined but I need a picture to use on my business cards and I don’t want to steal one that I am not allowed to:/

    • Hi Bianka,

You can pick your Younique business cards from your back office under “business tools”. Hope that helps and good luck in your Younique business!

  32. Hi Kristine.

I’ve been a Younique Presenter for about 3 weeks now – I know it’s only early days but I haven’t had 1 sale yet 🙁 None of my friends and family are interested or even want to help. I live in the United Kingdom and the shipping is something like £7.00.

People are liking my page but showing no interest in buying the products :'( Do you have any advice for me??

  33. Hi Kristin!

I am very interested in becoming a Younique presenter but would like to learn some more about it. Would you be able to send me some information?

  34. Hi please help))
Just signed up as presenter. Have a question, is it better that my friends host a party or become a presenter using me as sponsor?
What is the facebook page you were talking about and the photos i can use for marketing?

    Thank you so much!

    • Congrats on signing up to be a presenter!! If your friends are interested in being a presenter, I would definitely go that route. Since you just signed up, I would definitely have your own launch party with your friends. It’s such a great way to earn back some of your initial investment, get some new customers, let your friends know what you are doing now, get future hostesses and even new team members.

The FB page is strictly for my own team. Ask your sponsor what information he/she has to help you grow your business.

      Good luck to you!

  35. Hi Kristin,

I was thinking about becoming a Younique presenter, but I was reading over The Younique Independent Presenter Agreement and it looked like I have to pay $10 a month for my website! Can you please explain this to me? I thought it was supposed to be provided free …

    Thanks,
    Taylor

    • Hi Taylor!

When you are a Younique presenter, you get your Younique website for free. There is not a charge when you sign up and it’s completely free while you are an active presenter.

  36. This might b a weird question but…. Is younique fin free and has it been tested on animals. My husband works with sharks and we have an agreement that i do not use makeup that is made with shark fin. And i dnt like using products that have been tested on animals.

  37. Hello Kristin! Like someone has mentioned above…about being shy, lol if I were to be a part of this team and sell the products is there any way I could strickly do my work online? I feel as if I would be great with this company and really hoping I can work it online. And is there a difference in pay online vs in person? Like would It be more beneficial online or visa-versa?

    • Hey Sara! You can absolutely work your business strictly online. That’s actually how I’ve built my whole business. There is no difference in pay if you work your business online or in person – It’s only a matter of preference and how you want to build your business. Hope that helps!

  38. Hi Kristen!

I have recently joined Younique but am having trouble getting sales. It is a bit discouraging! I have created a Facebook group and post regularly about products and deals. Any suggestions?

    • Hi Carim!

FB groups don’t seem to work well for me anymore since Facebook constantly changes its algorithms and our friends don’t see what we actually post. I’d recommend starting a FB business page and even posting about Younique on your personal page. Don’t get discouraged – There are so many ways to advertise Younique – You just need to find the one that works best for you!

  39. I have a few questions but do not feel comfortable asking them on a public forum. Is there a way we can communicate privately? I have just finished reading every question and reply above, great info, thank you, but still have concerns and hope you can assist.

  40. Hi could you please email some more details about joining your team? I am really wanting to try this. I am based in UK and really wanted to find a good team to join under hoping for better advice etc. Thanks in advance.

  41. Hi Kristin, I am thinking of becoming a presenter. Can these items be sold on EBAY? I would hate to sell and then find out later friends could have gotten it for less elsewhere. I did go on EBAY and I do see these products are being sold. By the way, if I decide to do this, I would like you to be my sponsor. I also would first want to try a product to see if this is worthwhile.

    • No, Younique products cannot be sold on eBay or Amazon. Chances are that the products aren’t genuine and real if purchased from those sites and I would hate to think of all of the risks that could happen to someone’s eyes or face by not knowing what chemicals are in the products. There are some pretty good knock-offs that look so real, so it’s always best to purchase Younique products from a Younique presenter. Also, products sold on these sites are not backed by Younique’s Love It Guarantee.

I’d love to be your sponsor and help you grow your business!

  42. Hi Kristin, I am new to Younique. I was wondering if you could also send me the tax info so that I can understand it better. It’s a little confusing to me! Thank you!!!!

  43. Hiya Kristin

I’ve been looking into signing up as a younique presenter recently and trying to read up more about it. I understand you have to sign up under a sponsor I’m in the UK i would like to join a team where I can get good advice and tips on selling as I’ve not done anything like this before. Would you be able to email me some information about joining your team if that’s possible please? Thank you x

  44. Hi!
I’m interested in becoming a presenter. My question is, Are all products made in the U.S.? If not, where are they made?

  45. Hi Kristin,
I was looking for some info about Younique Products and the possibility to be a presenter. I had never sell anything before and I don’t wear make up most of the time, do you think it could be a possibility to be successful with Younique? What info can you share with me? I live in Houston too!!
    Thanks in advance

  46. Hi Kristin,
I am trying to figure if being a Younique presenter would be a great fit for me. Can you email me with more info about how Younique works? what the investment will be? I am not a sales persons and don’t use make up a lot but the opportunity seems interesting. I live in Houston too.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  47. Hi Kristin

I came across your site while searching for more information about younique and I was thinking about joining but it says I need a sponsor. If I decide to join, I would love to be a part of your team. You give a lot of good advice and help to people just joining but would joining your team be possible with me living in England? Also could you possibly email me more information about it please. Thank you x

  48. Hi, I was hoping to get some information from you regarding selling cross-border between Canada & the US. Could you please email me with information? I’m thinking of selling, but I’m currently in the US with an eminent move back to Canada in the next year… Thanks in advance! :oD

  49. Hi, I’m looking to get my first 3 presenters and wondered if you could help me get some online sales and help promote me just a little.
    Please email me.
    Kind regards
    Vicky stevens

  50. Hi,
I am interested in being a presenter! I was wondering what is exactly included in the starter kit at this time. I also wanted to ask you some tips on selling these items, what are some selling techniques that you use or social media sites? I feel it would be difficult to sell!
    Thanks much,
    Marissa

  51. Hi!
I’ve been researching younique all week. I’ve been involved with other companies and didn’t have much luck. If I join, I want to go to the top! I’m wondering how you learned to make blog like this and what other resources you have used for marketing.
    Thank you

    • Hey Chelsea! I’ve built my entire business online only with social media and my blog. I wasn’t new to the blogging world and had a couple of other online businesses prior to Younique. My husband made the theme of my blog; I just write posts, lol.

    • Hi Maria! Yes, you can sign up to be a Younique Presenter in Germany right now! I’ve sent you an email with some additional information and my link to join. I’m so excited to work with you!

  52. Hello how are you? 🙂 I’m just wondering, im so so passionate about younique, what it stands for, their products etc, I have a team of girls to work with me, but unfortunately we don’t have it yet here in southern ireland, is there any chance we can or will be getting this wonderful company here, 🙂 xx

  53. Does Younique have a Quarterly calendar or does the “$125 in purchases every 3 months” start when you join?

Example….I joined September 13th….does my new next 3 months start December 13th?

Or do you run quarterly by the calendar…..January to March, April to June, etc….

    Thank You!!

    • It’s a rolling 3-month period, Dawn, so it changes every month based on your previous sales. As long as you sell 2 mascaras (or the equivalent) every month, you will stay active and will have your $125 in sales.

    • Ha, ha, no you don’t have to be a makeup expert, Amanda! I’m by far the furthest thing from being a makeup artist and I’m doing pretty well 😉 You just have to be excited, willing to try new things, and to be open and share it with everyone. You’ll definitely learn a ton about makeup along the way!

  54. So I have a friend that invited me to her recruit’s Younique Facebook party. TWO days later and right in the middle of her recruit having their first Facebook Younique party, with her guidance, this “friend” creates her own party, where she’s offering to raffle off prizes to those who buy from HER. That doesn’t exactly make me want to get into business with her, especially because she’s offering a raffle and free prizes, while her new recruit is completely new to this, isn’t able to offer anything special, and obviously she just wants/needs sales, but cant compete with the woman she’s essentially making money for, because as I said she’s a new presenter and the person that recruited her is offering free giveaways and raffles RIGHT in the middle of her recruit’s first Facebook Younique party! This same person is looking for more recruits. Apparently a $99 dollar sale, with free shipping, in order to become a presenter myself. Now, I’ve been in sales and marketing for quite awhile. I think I could make a lot of money doing this. My question to you is, is it better to sign up through a “friend”, as she’s offering free shipping on the $99 Younique kit to all who sell under her, or is it better to sign up under someone like you who has received Black status and obviously helps many other women work towards success, and ALSO there will be very little to no “backstabbing” or selling at the same time, to the same people, as I’m in America, and I doubt we know many of the same people on Facebook haha. So I guess my question is are you offering the free shipping or is this only through her? Do I have more of a network if I sign up with a black status presenter instead of a friend, that sells in the middle of another friend’s FIRST Facebook presentation? It seems to me by having many of the same friends, it will be more difficult to sell, and as I also said, it’s hard to trust her when her first recruit’s Facebook campaign is overrun by her new presentation where she offers, as I said raffles and giveaways. Who do you think you’d buy from? Obviously the person offering to enter you into a raffle to win free things. But I’m also worried that you have a lot on your plate, as I’ve seen how many people ask for emails from you to become a presenter. Will you be able to help me start up? I don’t need a lot of “training”, as I said I’m very social media marketing savvy and think I could do well selling this. So I guess long story short, do you think what she’s doing is right? Can you message me with the information, as I’d like to buy a kit, I’d just like to buy it from someone I think deserves the commission I help them make, and I’d also like the free shipping she’s offering. Also, are there different advantages between selling through someone you know, versus selling through a black status presenter you’ve never met?

  55. Could it be possible for me and my mother in law sign up together since i’m not 18 yet? Would we still just have to be making the $200 you said each month together ? If I can sign up and be a presenter with her I would love for you to be my sponsor.

  56. Is it possible for me to become a presenter as I live in the Republic of Ireland. I can only find info about Northern Ireland. I use younique products, through a presenter/friend in the UK, and love them so much, I really think I’d enjoy selling them 🙂

  57. Hey!
I am curious as to how the sales part of this works. Walk me through a sale. I understand that you can have parties and use Facebook to promote, but do people place orders to you and you put the orders in for them? Or do you have a website where people order under your name? If that’s the case how do you keep up with the sales you make? Is there a catalog or website you can share with those interested in your products? And how do you go about making samples for those interested and keep from using all of your kit for those who only want samples and never want to buy?

    • Hey Lindsey! My customers can place orders through me and I put in the order or they can go to my Younique site and place the order themselves. Younique gives us our Younique sites for free and that is where our customers order. We can see the sales that we make in our back office. It has our customer information back there and makes it super easy! The orders are shipped directly to the customer so that we don’t have to be the middleman and deliver.

I like making samples from my full size products. It’s really easy and this way I earn commission from my own sales. I use vials and pods from Hobby Lobby (or Amazon) and make 3-4 day samples for potential customers.

  58. Can my dad sign me up and use my instagram, facebook, etc. to help run the business. Can you email me any other information as well please, thank you.

  59. Hello,

I was wondering if you could email me privately. I have been contemplating becoming a presenter but would like to know more before I commit.

  60. Hi, i would like to know if my friends host my party then am i going to get any rewards point? or only my hostess will get that rewards point only.

    • If you are a Younique presenter and your friend hosts a party for you, your friend will get the hostess rewards and you will get the commission from all of the sales. When you have a party yourself and are a presenter, you will get hostess rewards in the form of half-priced items and Younique cash, in addition to the commission that you earn from the sales. Hope that helps!

  61. Hi, I am really interested in signing up, I work part time, how do I go about declaring tax etc?
Also how much is it to join and what do you receive?
    Thank you

    • Hi Lucy! As far as taxes go, you’d have to speak to your accountant because I would hate to tell you the wrong information. I do know that owning a small home-based business is great for tax deductions, but again, an accountant would be the best route.

      Kristin

  62. Hello, I recently had my daughter on August 14, 2015 with that I went on Mat leave and I am reciving money from the government every two weeks. I’m wondering if I sign up if younique if it would affect my Matt leave? I am from Canada Sioux Lookout, Ontario and I am a aboriginal we have remote communities which are called reservations and I think I would be a good impact to the company. I’ve been debating about signing up due to my situation if someone would get back to me before I sign up that would be great!

  63. Hi! I’ve just read all the comments above, I love how you respond to everyone! I would love for you to be my sponsor and help me get this started. I don’t know anyone that sells younique, I would love to be the first! I have a couple more questions if you could please email me that would be great.

  64. When someone joins up through you do you get the money they paid? just wondering because alot of other businesses do that so you basically get rewarded for someone joining up through you

    • Good question, Bec! When you join, your initial investment goes towards buying your own business. The person you pick to be your sponsor does not get rewarded financially from you deciding to join. Your sponsor only makes a percentage from your sales once you start working your business and making sales. Hope that helps!

    • Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog, Barbara! Yes, you do get a discount on products when you are a presenter. You start out with a 20% discount back and can get up to 30%.

        • Yes, that’s correct! You will get 20% back in commissions. Plus, if you order from your own party link and your party qualifies in sales, you will also earn hostess rewards for free product, too!

  65. I am a contact lens wearer so I have to be careful with which cosmetics I use. If not, by the time I am ready to leave the house it has found its way into my eyes and inevitably clouding the very center of my contacts.

My ophthalmologist usually recommends Almay but it doesn’t have staying power.
Is Younique a product that won’t cause problems with my contacts or should I stick with what is safe?

    • Hey Allison,

Our 3D Fiber Lashes+ is completely fine for contact wearers. I wear contacts and have never had an issue with our mascara, ever. Just so you know, our mascara has been tested and approved by opthamologists, so you don’t have to worry about that.

We do have a 14 day money back guarantee, just so you know.

  66. Hi, if you have family and friends overseas ie South America, can you sell to them? I understand that shipping from the company would only go as far as the countries currently in the website, but if I arranged shipping of the product on my own is that allowed? I read the presenter agreement and was confused if this would be frowned upon. I don’t want to be in any violation if this is not allowed. Thanks in advance for your kind reply.

    • Since Younique isn’t in South America just yet, we aren’t able to sell products there. It’s against the Presenter’s Agreement to conduct business in a country that we are not in. You can gift it to a friend or family member there, but you aren’t supposed to collect money in exchange for the product. If you have any other questions about it, just let me know.

  67. Hi Kristin,
I just recently became a presenter as of yesterday but I can’t get on to my website. And how long does it take before I can start to sell under my name I have a few ladies that would like to buy from me but can’t seem to get my website going thank you for your help

  68. Hey Kristin! I found many answers to my questions by this blog post and the questions/answers that followed! But would still like a bit more information about signing up as a presenter under you. I just moved to Bellville, Tx and it looks like there are already 3 or 4 presenters here. I’m not the best at sales 🙂

  69. I’m interested in selling younique but i have a question. The liquid foundation seems to always be either be on backorder or out of stock. Do you know an estimated time they usually stay on back order? When would the customer get their products?

  70. Hi! I live in Houston as well! I’ve been involved with 2 other direct sales companies over the past year or so, and unfortunately, I was not successful. I have a family member who is a Younique presenter, so I got to thinking about it again. Could you send me an email when you have a few minutes available? I have a few questions. Thank you!

  71. Hi my name is maria i have a question i heard they need your social number but im trying to buy house so if i join they might ask for some proof that i work such as pay stuff do you know if the company gives those information? Because i kbow for sure they might ask me to bring a check or pay stuff which i think you guys dont ..please if you can let me know thank you

  72. How does taxes work with this. Like at the end of the year taxes? some one said to me “All sounds good till that 1099 shows up on your steps at the end of the year and you owe lots of money for all of the non taxed money you made all year; is this true?

  73. Who is responsible for collecting and paying the state sales tax and filing the state sales tax reports ? The presenter ?

    • Yes, the presenter is. Younique sends out a 1099 at the beginning of every year and then it’s the presenter’s job to file taxes with that information.

  74. Hi Kristin, I was wondering if you would kindly give me answers to my questions please….. So here it goes lol …… I currently have a number of people that are people I know but are not really friends and already buy younique products so what I’m really saying is I don’t really Know anybody where I now live so would this pose a problem to sell products also do you have catalogs that you can pass on to my neighbors or does everything have to be online only thanks so much for your time x

  75. I have been debating on selling younique. I have never tried the products though, and the one I mainly do want to try is always out of stock. Also afraid I wouldn’t be able to sell it. I’m a shy person. What if I had purchased the kit, and can’t sell anything. Would I owe money?

    • Hey Crystina! There is no obligation to sell anything once you join. If you decide to join Younique for the discount or just for the products in the presenter’s kit, that is fine. You will not owe any money ever.

The great thing about Younique is that none of us are salespeople. We are just sharing products that we like with our friends. If they want to try the products, awesome. If they don’t, that’s fine too. I’m a shy person too and if I can do it, anyone can! I’ve sent you over an email with some other information. Thanks for reaching out!

  76. Hello I just had a quick question if you could answer it! I just started selling younique a few days ago, I was wondering if I get commission on the products I buy too? I know that I get the 20% when someone buys from me, but if I were to order something do I get that back as well?

  77. Hi Kristin,

I found your blog very insightful.

I am based in the UK. I would be interested in further information about becoming a presenter. I would like to know what you can offer to help me become successful as a presenter if I chose to walk this path.

    Thanks Anna

    • Hey Kaitlyn! Thanks for leaving a comment. I’ve sent you an email about becoming a Younique presenter and am looking forward to talking to you.

      Thanks,
      Kristin
