Once upon a time there was a girl who focused on all of the wrong things. She wasn’t thin enough. She wasn’t pretty enough. She didn’t have the right shoes/handbag/jewelry. She didn’t like to go against the grain, so to speak. She dreaded when she was asked her opinion on something because she didn’t want to say the wrong thing. She never felt like herself because she was always trying to be someone else.
And y’all, that’s a really hard way to live your life. I’m sure there’s no surprise, but that girl was me.
