Not so motivated today? I see you.

Where my people at who aren’t so motivated today? 🙋‍♀️ I see you & I feel you. When you aren’t feeling it, it’s so dang hard to get going. Most of you know that I have a promise to myself to move for at least 30 minutes every single day. Yesterday I did 74 min & was super proud. Today, I didn’t even want to open the front door.

But I did.

I ended up doing 39 min in total & literally felt like I was dying for each second that went by. It was hot & each step felt like I was trying to move a brick on my foot. Even my beloved Lizzo didn’t seem to get me as energized. But, I kept going, even with a clump of grass on my left leg that would hit my skin every few steps (didn’t realize what it was til I got home).

That was awesome.

Motivation comes & goes, y’all. That’s why it’s so important to develop habits bc there will be days when you don’t want to go for that run, do the work, or keep that promise to yourself. But you have to do it daily so that you feel it when the motivation is strong & still do it when the motivation doesn’t exist.

If I didn’t open the front door today I wouldn’t have seen the beautiful area that I GET to run in. I wouldn’t have seen a friend along the path that I GOT to catch up with. I wouldn’t have gotten a thumbs up from another runner & wouldn’t have been able to pay that forward to another person.

So whatever it is that you promised yourself you would do today, go out there & do it. Don’t make up an excuse. Don’t let yourself down. Remember, these are the things that you are privileged enough to GET TO DO ❤️
