Happy Valentine’s Day to you today! Whether you are part of a duo, celebrating with your child, or just loving on yourself, I hope that you take time to love on someone. I’m not much for the holiday, but a little reminder about love is always nice. Hope you have a fun heart day!
Two words just excited me in a way that made my mind race and lit a fire deep within my heart: Consistency Compounds.
I was listening to the Rise Podcast with Rachel Hollis. (In case you’ve been living under a rock, Rachel Hollis is the amazing author behind the “Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant To Be“). In this [Read more…]
I did something this past weekend while I was out of town that I haven’t done in forever. I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “I am deserving and worthy“. What you don’t know (and what I probably should leave out) is that I was going to the bathroom and the door facing me had a mirror on it. What can I say? I saw an opportunity and went for it. What better time, right?!
In all seriousness though, years ago I used to look at myself in the mirror (never while going to the bathroom, I might add) and [Read more…]
While I was out of town in California for Younique’s Black Status Retreat, my Moodstruck Beloved, Volume 2 palette was delivered. Of course it happens like that, right? The second I leave on a plane is when my package arrives.
Younique now has a full coverage stick foundation that is so lightweight and easy to use! I was able to get mine this past weekend and, to be honest, it’s my first time to ever use a stick foundation. I’ve learned that there’s really no wrong way to apply it and I love the ease of that, especially since I’m a newbie. (But for real though!)
One of the coolest parts is that whether you need a lot of coverage or just a little, you will achieve the look you want with Younique’s stick foundation. You can have a matte or dewy finish; it’s completely up to you and the look you are going for. It really is that easy and effortless, so the [Read more…]
Microblading has been around for some time, but it’s only been in the recent years that it’s become super trendy. Eyebrow-envy can be found by scrolling on Instagram and seeing all of the makeup posts with perfectly manicured brows. You know the ones I’m talking about… They leave you in complete awe, wondering why you don’t have the skills to do your brows like that. (Or is that just me?)
I first learned about microblading a few years ago and decided almost instantly that I wanted amazing brows too. While it took me a long time to muster up the courage to make an appointment, I did it on [Read more…]

First, a little back story: As you may know, Younique set the bar for long lashes in 2014 with their 3D Fiber Lash Mascara. Women went crazy over the length and volume that the mascara provided their lashes with and the company exploded. The mascara went on backorder so many times because the demand far surpassed the supply that was available, yet the orders kept coming in. The backorders almost created more of a buzz because people want what they can’t have. Lots of people could have said that that moment was the perfect time to get involved with Younique.
Well guess what? Younique is about to do it all over again. Whether [Read more…]
You know that feeling you get when the end of December starts creeping in and you decide to change everything to be a better person, a better mom, to lose weight, to eat better, to exercise, etc? Ah yes, the infamous New Years Resolutions. I guess, in theory, it’s a great idea. We should all strive to be better, in all of the areas in our life.
But what happens (usually) around [Read more…]
Last night I was flipping through my saved books on my Kindle & decided to start “Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It” by Kamal Ravikant. I had no idea specifically what this book was about, more than the personal development side of it, but the cover intrigued me.
It’s a predominately black and white cover with a person standing pointing a gun to the head and a red heart on [Read more…]
when you looked at the “tattoo ideas” folder on your laptop, you just knew that one of the saved pictures was speaking to your soul. you knew it was the one even though you kept searching for other “small inspirational wrist tattoos”. you knew right where you wanted it so that it could provide inspiration in those moments you needed most to remember just how awesome you are.
it’s your daily [Read more…]
This past Tuesday, while in Calgary, I decided I wanted to finally get that tattoo I’ve been talking about for a few months now. I looked up tattoo shops, read reviews, set my Sidekix app (think of Waze, but for walkers) for the route, and went on my merry way. Once I got to the shop, I was greeted by a girl who told me that they didn’t have any availability that day, but that [Read more…]
Wanderlust: A desire to travel, to understand ones very existence.
The last time I was in Calgary, I was moved beyond belief. It was such an incredible experience to have had that time to do all the things, some of which I knew I wanted to do & others that just happened as a result of not having a plan. This city is such a fantastic place and it’s amazing what can happen when you just let go and get out there.
You know you’re doing something right when [Read more…]
“Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.” – Henri J. M. Nouwen
Do you do that?
Do you choose joy every day?
Are you living life and choosing to see all the good, even in the times when it is tough? Or are you letting life & all of [Read more…]
Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the leaves changing & the air cooling. I love pumpkin everything and bundling up with sweaters & cute jackets. It’s such a wonderful time of the year, but living in Houston leaves much to be desired when it comes to Fall. Houston doesn’t really do Fall. The cooler temperatures coming in may be around 85 degrees and [Read more…]
