Review: 2 Months Into Using Younique 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara

my 3d fiber lashesSo now that I’ve been using Younique products for just under two months, I wanted to give an update and review on one of my favorite products: The awesomely, amazing 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara. I’ve had some time to play around with the mascara since I wear it just about every single day. Now that I’m basically an expert (insert laugh here), I want to share my favorite ways to wear it.

Let’s set the scene: I’m sitting at my vanity in my room with the blinds open and my makeup mirror light on. I have both the transplanting gel and the fiber lashes bottles open and ready to go. I do change up the little things, depending on my mood and how much time I have. For example, if I’m applying mascara to drop my son off at school, I do not put a layer of regular mascara on first. If I’m going out, I just might curl my lashes and then apply some regular mascara on before. It just depends.

Important July, 2015 Update: Younique has launched a new, dramatically enhanced version of this incredible mascara called, 3D Fiber Lashes+ mascara. There have been so many new enhancements to this product. Please refer to the above blog post for new information about the 3D Fiber Lashes+ mascara by Younique – and see my video with full product demonstration.

If I apply a thin layer of regular mascara on first, it doesn’t matter what the brand is. Seriously. I’ve tried everything from my absolute favorite Benefit They’re Real to cheaper drugstore mascara like L’Oreal. It honestly does not matter what mascara is on my lashes at this point. It’s just like a base for extra volume to be added.

After I apply a thin layer of regular mascara (can’t stress the “thin” enough), I immediately follow up with the transplanting gel. I want the transplanting gel to go on while the other mascara is wet. After I apply a thin layer of transplanting gel, I immediately start applying the fibers to my already wet lashes. Once I’m happy with the fibers, I move on to the next eye so that the fibers can dry and stick to my lashes. This is only step where I want the lashes to be dry.

I apply the same steps above to my other eye: regular mascara, transplanting gel, and then the fibers. Once I’m satisfied, I go back to my first eye and apply the transplanting gel to seal in the fibers. And then I repeat that on the other eye. And that’s all I do to get amazing lashes!

3D Fiber Lashes Mascara Pro!

It’s that easy and takes me just a couple of minutes now that I’m a pro! When I first ordered the 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara, I wasn’t sure if it would be a daily thing I wore or just a nighttime, want a fancier, more dramatic look. After using the product, I just can’t go back to wearing only regular mascara. It’s like when you leave the house without your watch and you feel naked – The 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara is something that I always wear now or I don’t feel totally put together.

When I do want a more dramatic look, I apply the same steps above, plus another coat of the fibers and transplanting gel. I guess that’s the fab thing about this mascara – It’s totally meant to be put on in layers so that you can build up your lashes without them getting clumpy at all. If you do not have long lashes, you might have to put on 2 or 3 coats to achieve the volume and length you long for, and that’s okay.

3D Fiber Lashes Mascara Review: A Few Helpful Tips!

One last helpful hint for you: If you find any clumps, just “brush” them out with a lash comb. It’s a miracle for clumpy lashes! Although if you take my advice and apply thin layers on your lashes, you won’t have a clump problem… And I know that from experience! You should have seen the first time I put on regular mascara, the transplanting gel, and then the fibers. “Whoa” was my first thought and it was not a good thing. I got a little carried away with the application process and put everything on way too thick. I’ve since learned what works for my lashes and thin is the way to go!

So just being shy of two months using Younique’s products, I’m even more in love than before! The 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara is my favorite product, and I know I’m not alone seeing all the other 3D fiber lashes mascara reviews online! I’ve always loved mascara, no question about that, and that’s probably why I jumped on joining the Younique opportunity before even trying the product. I just love how mascara magically opens up your eyes in a way that nothing else can, but the fiber lashes just take it to a whole other level! Just remember, like with all makeup products, you have to make it your own and play around with it to see what works best for your lashes.

  1. How can I get to try the 3D Fiber Lash mascara for free, to see if it really does increase my lashes?

    Thank you,

    • Hi Melissa,

One way to earn free product is to host a Facebook party. I do the work and you invite your friends. If you’d like to do this, please send me an email and we can set it up.

        • Hi Louise,

I’m a bit unclear of what you are asking, so I’ll go into both sides for you. If you are interested in hosting a FB party, yes, that is free. You would friend me on FB and I create the party for you. You invite your friends and I do the rest. As long as your party qualifies (total sales of at least $200), you earn hostess rewards and can get free product.

If you are talking about becoming a Younique presenter and selling products, there is a cost for the presenter kit. It’s a one time fee and it depends on the country you are in. If you are in the US, it’s $99. Once you get your kit, you can create your own FB parties and earn free product.

If you have more questions or would like to do any of the above, just let me know and I’ll set everything up. Thanks for contacting me!

          • by facebook party do you mean that the ‘party’ is purely online?? Or that there is a physical party in someones home that is organised through facebook??
and sorry if that sounds silly to ask 🙂

          • Hi Hannah,

Not silly at all! An online Facebook party is done online on Facebook 😉 I create a group on FB and the party host adds her friends to it. It’s as simple as that! I post in the group and you (the party host) get rewards as long as the party is a qualifying one.

Are you interested in hosting one? I’d love to do a party for you.

            Talk to you soon,

          • Hi Angel!

I’ve sent you an email so that we can talk more about Younique. I’m looking forward to talking to you!

        • Hi Sarah,

It’s true that you don’t earn hostess rewards if the party doesn’t qualify, but as long as you do your part as the host and the presenter does his/her part, your party should be fine! In fact, I’ve never had a party that didn’t qualify. If you’d like to host one, I’m happy to help!

          Thanks for commenting!

      • What about the Younique product at that people have been purchasing from$4.00 to $8.00 dollars at that website. How real is those items.

        • Hey Antonia! I would steer clear from any products that claim to be Younique, but aren’t sold from the Younique website or through a presenter. Since our product is amazing, there are many knock-offs and since it’s mascara, it can be SO dangerous to put this near your eye. Believe me, I’m talking eye infections and more! If you want the real deal, make sure that you ALWAYS purchase through a Younique presenter. I know it’s tempting to save some money (who doesn’t like getting a deal?!), but it’s not a good idea when you can’t be sure that the product is what it says it is. And don’t even get me started on the scary ingredients that could be in the knock-offs! Your eyes will thank you when you purchase the real Younique 3d fiber lash mascara from a Younique presenter for the real price 😉

        • Hey there !

From personal experience is one of the BIGGEST rip off sites there is. I bought a prom dress from there and it was AWFUL. can’t stress that enough. They are awful about customer service and are foreign and refuse to take returns.

  2. What will the sales tax be on the 3-D lashes for a sale within Texas — 6.25% or 8.25%.
Will shipping be cheaper within the state?

    • Hi Marti,

It depends on where in Texas you are. For me, it’s 8.25%, but it’s lower in other areas of Texas. Shipping on orders under $100 is a flat rate of $5.50. If your order is over $100, the shipping is free. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  3. I was wondering if I could purchase the fiber last mascara from you since I also live in Houston and would like to avoid paying for shipping. Is this possible?

  4. I just purchased this mascara but paid for the shipping. I live in West Houston. Oh well! Excited to try the product, especially since reading your blog.

    • Hi Stacy,

I can’t wait for you to try the product, too! How funny that you live so close to me! We are in W. Houston all of the time. I’d love to hear what you think of the 3d fiber lashes.

      Have a great weekend!

  5. Hi, I’m in australia and keen to hear of your Facebook parties and also to be a representative. Please feel free to email or call me anytime. Cheers

  6. Hi, I’m looking to sell the Younique product here in the UK, midlands area, how do I get set up please. My mum will be over in California for 2 months, would it be easier to sort out over there? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Tessa

    • Hi Ann,

There is no monthly fee and your Younique website is always free. After paying the $99 for the presenter kit, there are no other fees that you will need to pay.

      Hope that helps!

  7. I’m curious, you have been involved with younque products for a bit now. How is it going? Has it been a lucrative business for you or has it been a struggle getting it off the ground to generate any real income?

    • Hi Rae,

I take off my 3d fiber lash mascara every night, as part of my nighttime routine. There are others that use it and wear the mascara on for a few days before taking it off and reapplying, so it’s really just up to what you prefer to do. To remove the 3d mascara, I use Simple Makeup Remover Wipes and then I wash my face with Awake, our facial cleanser. It’s the exact same process that I did to take off my regular mascara prior to using the 3d mascara. So easy! If you have other questions, ask away! I’m happy to help!

  8. I would like more information on a party. But first I want to know about removal and care to maintain. Thank you

    • Hi Deborah,

Removing the mascara is just as easy as removing regular mascara. There’s really no difference at all! I use Simple Wipes to remove my mascara and then I wash my face with our facial cleanser. You could use baby wipes, soap and water, or whatever else you would use currently to take off your makeup. It’s super easy!

As far as hosting a party, I create the group or event on Facebook and you invite your friends to it. I post pictures and information in the party daily so that your friends can see what products we have to offer. Based on the total party sales, you earn rewards in Younique cash (used just like store credit to put towards any product you want) and half-price items (which you can use on collections, too!) Partying on Facebook is a really fun way to earn some free products! I’d love to set one up for you, just let me know if you’re interested and what day works well to start it.

  9. I opened my transplanting gel and it was so thick there would be no way to use it and trying to put it back was a huge waste. What do I do to get it not so thick?

    • Hi Shayla,

You can try to put saline in that tube to try and help reduce the thickness. If you feel like it’s defective, I would contact the presenter you purchased it from so that she can contact support about sending you another one. It should not be so thick that you can’t use it. You need to be able to use it to have LONG & pretty lashes 😉

      • Kristin,
I’m interested in learning more about having an online party. Can you give me some more info on this please.
        Christie Jackson

        • Hi Christie! Right now, there’s a great special going on for all Younique parties that allows a hostess to earn rewards faster than usual. Usually a hostess earns rewards in Younique cash (like store credit to spend on free products) and half price items when a party totals $200 in sales. During the month of February, a hostess earns rewards when a party totals $100.

The party itself is done in a Facebook event. I create the event and you invite your friends to it. The party is a 10-day party, and I do a live event that lasts 30 minutes on the event page. Every day after the live event is done, I post a picture to show off the products in more detail. Doing parties this way has been successful and it makes the parties fun!

If you have any questions, just let me know! I’m excited to possibly do a party with you and earn you some free Younique products!

    • Hi Bev,

Our 3d fiber lash mascara is water-resistant. That being said, it removes super easy with makeup remover, or soap and water. It also stays on during crying sessions (at a funeral) and working out and getting sweaty. It’s perfect!

  10. Kristen,
Hi! I just bought the 3D fiber lashes mascara after hearing about it online in my Facebook mommies group over and over and over! I kept hearing how awesome it is and I finally looked it up on YouTube and just decided to order it. My question is how do I become a presenter? How do you make income from it? Online mostly? I’m a stay at home mommy too and I could really use some extra $$$!

    • Hi Sheila!

Thanks so much for commenting on my blog post and sending me an email. Our 3d mascara is the best – you will love it!!

If you’re ready now, you can sign up to be a presenter here on my link:

Where do you live? If you’re in the US, it’s $99 for the presenter kit. You get the: 3d fiber lash mascara, Uplift eye serum, Glorious Primer, 3 eye liners (in black, light brown, and white), and Luxe lip gloss (perfect neutral shade).

How old are your kids? I have a 5 yr old little boy who keeps me on my toes!

Just so you know, this $99 is the only amount you will ever have to pay, as our websites are free and there are no additional charges.

Yes, the easiest way to sell is definitely online with social media like Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram. When you join, I will send you information about parties and will add to you a past one so you can see how I do them. It’s so easy and so much fun! You can also do home parties and vendor events, if that’s your thing! It’s really up to you and where you feel comfortable.

One awesome thing that you will like is that once you make a sale, you get paid within 3 hours. It’s great whether you need diapers that day, just want to go out to eat, or want some extra money for shopping!

I will end it here, as I don’t want to overload you with info 😉 Let me know your questions or if there’s anything you want me to clarify more for you. I’m happy to help!

I’d love to work with you and have you join me. I’m looking forward to talking to you soon!

  11. I’ve been using this mascara for almost 2 months and really due enjoy it. Both the tubes are getting”thick” I will try to add saline to the gel, but can I add saline to the fibers?

    • Hi Tara,

I wouldn’t apply saline to the fibers tube. Instead, try putting the tube in a cup of warm water to see if that helps. (Be sure that the water doesn’t actually get inside of the tube.)

  12. Hi – I am just starting a business where I will be having a vendor booth. Is this a venue where I can sell this awesome product, instead of having parties?

    • Hi Kathy!

Yes, you can sell products at vendor events. You certainly don’t have to have parties if you aren’t interested in doing so. What’s great about Younique is that you can work it whenever you want and however you want, so you don’t have to do something that you don’t want to do.

I’d love tell you more about this business and answer any questions that you have.

I’m looking forward to talking to you soon,

  13. 2

    Hi Kristin,

I live in Houston also. I am not interested in selling the product or hosting any parties BUT I soooo want to purchase some and try it. Is is possible to meet you somewhere and make a purchase only??
    Please let me know ASAP.

    Thank you,

    • Hi Tedra,

Yes, I do have a couple of mascaras on hand and would love to meet up with you. I will email you to set up a time and date to get your mascara. Your lashes are going to look great!!

      Talk to you soon,

  14. Ive been reading reviews about the younique 3d fiber lash mascara and id really like to purchase one but I do have a few concerns.
My concern is, how do I know the difference between fake younique products and the actual thing itself? Ive been reading and others have said they received fake younique 3d fiber lash mascara. & thats something I wouldnt like to happen.

    • Hi Felicia,

As long as you order from a Younique presenter, you will receive a real 3d fiber lash mascara. The only time fake ones come into play is when people order from ebay or other sites like that. Younique’s 3d mascara has a barcode on it and the fakes ones don’t. If you’d like to place an order with me, here’s my link for you to buy a real one. You definitely won’t be disappointed 😉

Thanks for leaving a comment! I’ve heard some scary stories from people trying to save a few dollars and purchasing fake ones. You can rest assured that ordering from Younique will get you beautiful lashes! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  15. I have questions. I am a faithful latisse user. And this product has thickened and strengthened and sped up the growth of my lashes. I use very little all natural mascara when going out and only coconut oil on lashes for everyday errands. Will your product provide a healthier lashes. Meaning that you will see thicker longer lashes even when the product is not applied?

    • Hi Erica,

Yes, you can sell the products that come in your presenter kit if you’d like. If you plan on having home parties you might want to keep them so that you can show people. Another benefit to keeping everything is so that you can try the products yourself and be able to tell people your honest thoughts about each one. Hope that helps!

    • Hi Melissa,

Thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog! I would love to tell you more about being a presenter for Younique. Have you ever tried any of Younique’s products before?

Where are you located? When you sign up to be a presenter, you pay $99 (US) for your business and you get the Presenter Kit as well. The presenter kit includes: the 3d fiber lash mascara, Uplift eye serum, Refreshed rosewater, Luxe lip gloss, and 3 eye liners (in black, brown, and white). It’s a great variety of product!

When you first start out you will earn 20% on all products sold. As you advance through the compensation plan, you can earn up to 30% and a percentage from your team under you.

I’m looking forward to talking to you soon!

  16. hi
I’m trying to find out how do I order this mascara, and how long does it typically last? And also how soon after you order it is it sent out to you?

    • Hi Tashara,

You can order the mascara at: (It forwards over to my Younique site). It lasts about 2-3 months, depending on your usage of it. Once you place your order, it takes 3-5 days to process and ship out to you. You’ll absolutely love it! It’s my favorite product hands-down. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

  17. Hello! I live in far away Romania! How do you think i can get this great mascara? i saw a lot of reviews and i want it really bad since i’m a makeup addict

    • Hi Raluca,

Right now Younique isn’t in Romania, but I would love to stay in contact with you and let you know when plans of expanding there happen. You’ll love the mascara; it’s so great!

  18. Hi dear
I live in Thailand i very live it very amazing for Thai lady . how can i get this product please reply me

    • Hi Julie!

Since Younique is not in Thailand yet, there’s no way to get the product. I would love to stay in touch so that I can let you know when Younique will be in Thailand once it’s announced down the road.

    • Hi Summer,

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog about Younique’s mascara! If you use it daily, it will last about 2 months. If you use it for special occasions, it will last longer, but should always be replaced every 6 months.

  19. Hi I was just wondering if I was interested in this product or maybe even becoming a presenter in Ireland, would that be possible or would I have to go through the UK for purchase and shipping.
    Thanks Kate

    • Hi Kate! As long as you are in Northern Ireland, you can become a Younique presenter and buy products from Younique. I can help you with both and have sent you an email to go over any questions you have. Thanks for contacting me!

    • Hi Amelia,

Younique isn’t in Malaysia just yet, but I’d love to stay in contact so I can let you know once a date is released.

  20. I had purchased a Younique mascara a month ago & had a quick question about it. I didn’t realize that it wouldn’t last me very long because i do use it everyday, & it seems to me that the tranplanting gel dried out. But I don’t want to spend another $35 again, do you have any tips for it if it dries out? Or I have to give up another $35?
    Thanks so much!

    • Hey Ashley! I use mine daily and it lasts me 2-3 months. Try putting the transplanting gel under warm water for a few minutes (be sure not to let water get in the gel though). You can also put a couple of drops of saline in the gel to get it going again! It should put some life back into it for you 🙂

  21. I am male and really love yoniuie make up I wear it daily and especially can’t live with out my 3D mascara. It make me feel so sexy x

  22. Hello Kristin!
I have been reading your comments because I am interested in becoming a presenter (or just trying out some of the products) and I’m just making sure this is something I really want to do. I have also read other presenter reviews and product reviews. Can you show or explain to me how an online party looks/runs? I have been doing my research on younique so I feel I understand the basics just need to know or understand what it’s like to actually do this. I do not know anyone doing this in my friends group so it would be awesome to be the first 🙂 If you could e-mail me instead of replying on here so I can read it where ever I might be at that time! Thank you in advance for your time!

    • Just sent you an email, Tara! So excited to talk to you about Younique.

Online parties is the best way to build and grow your business. You do them on Facebook in a group or in an event. Parties are 10 days long, but you can shorten it if you’d like. I typically like to post about the mascara first, then branch out to my other favorite products. You’ll want to highlight a product a day. Videos and selfies of you work best since your friends know you and not the other person in the photo. Partying on Facebook is so easy & fun! Plus, there’s no preparation or clean up after 😉

  23. Hi I tried posting a comment before but it seems to be gone now, but I would like to know more about becoming a presenter. I am very interested in signing up!!!

  24. Hi, I don’t intend to sell so I want to know if it is possible for me to get the kit for 99 dollars just for my personal use? If someone wants to know what am wearing I can show them but I want it for myself.

    • Absolutely! You can buy the Younique presenter kit for your own personal use and aren’t obligated to sell at all if you don’t want to. Lots of people buy it for themselves because it’s such an amazing value!

    • There’s no magic number on how many FB friends you need to have at your online party, Debbie. That being said, it’s best when the numbers stay low, around 15-20 people. This makes the party very personable and more intimate than a 200 person party. The numbers seem to work out better this way.
